PHONIX RISING HISTORY

結成は１９９３年。VocalのKOJIとGuitarのMARKによって結成。二人はアコースティックライヴを行いながら、BassとDrmsのオーディションを開始。数々のオーディションを経てBassには様々なジャンルでセッション活動をしていたCHUCKを迎える。Drumsは未定のままリハーサルとオーディションを重ね、１９９６年にはバンドとして初音源となる”STRANGER IN THE NIGHT”のレコーディングを行う。しかし様々な問題から、この後PHOENIX RISINGとしての活動を一時休止。この間、MARKは音楽の勉強の為渡米し、KOJIとCHUCKはそれぞれセッション活動を行っていた。1999年には活動を再開の為集結しリハーサルを開始。２０００年７月にようやくバンドとして初ライヴを行う。２００２年にはバンドとして２作目の音源”THIS TIME AROUND”を完成させる。２００３年には新たなサポートドラマーとして百戦錬磨の達人、堀江睦男を迎えることが決まる。この編成で２００３年１１月よりライヴ活動を再開。２００４年１１月にはPHOENIX RISINGとしては初の東京でのライヴを行うが、この後長いレコーディングへと突入。そして昨年9月ようやく初のフルレンスアルバム発売となりライヴ活動も再開。今年は久しぶりの遠征も予定されておりPHOENIX RISING飛翔の年間違いなし！！

PHOENIX RISING was formed in 1993 by Mark Kitao(guitar) and Koji Mitsuse(vocals).We started auditioning for a bassist and a drummer while performing unplugged. After numerous auditions, Chuck Tamura, who had experience in various types of music. Then in 1996, PHOENIX RISING started recording the first single, Stranger in the Night, while still looking for a drummer. However, the band had to cease its activities temporarily for various reasons. Mark left for the U.S. to further his music studies while Koji and Chuck separately performed with other musicians . In 1999, Mark returned to Japan, and we were reunited.Then finally, PHOENIX RISING played the first show in July 2000. In 2002, toward the end of the year, PHOENIX RISING recorded the second single, This Time Around. In 2003, Nobuo Horie, an amazing drummer with great technique and experience, joined the band as a support drummer. After that, PHOENIX RISING started the recording of the first full-length album, which would last for a long time. Having completed the album, PHOENIX RISING is planing to start a Japan tour.The Phoenix is Rising this year!
